Maleic Anhydride Grafted Polypropylene PE

Maleic Anhydride Grafted Polyethylene (PE-g-MAH) is a high-performance functional polymer produced through reactive extrusion. It uses premium polyethylene bases (LLDPE, m-LLDPE, HDPE, etc.) grafted with maleic anhydride (MAH) monomer. This advanced grafting technology delivers high grafting efficiency, excellent processing performance, and very low impurity content, making it an essential compatibilizer and toughening agent for modified polyolefin systems and cable compounds.

Polymer Additives, Fibers, Fillers

Key Features and Benefits

  • High Grafting Rate: Provides strong polar functional groups for superior interfacial bonding with polar materials.
  • Excellent Processability: Maintains good melt flow and thermal stability during extrusion and compounding.
  • Low Impurity Content: Ensures clean processing and minimal defects in final compounds.
  • Dual Functionality: Acts as a high-efficiency compatibilizer to improve dispersion and compatibility in blends, and as a toughening agent to enhance impact resistance and overall mechanical performance.

PE-g-MAH effectively bridges non-polar polyolefins with polar fillers, flame retardants, and engineering resins, resulting in composites with improved tensile strength, elongation, impact toughness, and long-term stability.

Plastic Compatibilizer for PP/PE; PE/PA; LSZH Compound.

Recommended Grades and Applications

  • E100 / E120 / E200: Widely used as compatibilizers in low-smoke halogen-free (LSZH) flame-retardant cable materials (recommended addition: 5%).
  • E200: Ideal compatibilizer for wood-plastic extruded boards (recommended addition: 2%).
  • E100 / E120 / E200: Excellent for polyethylene/polar material blending modification (recommended addition: 2–15%).
  • General Use: As a toughening agent in modified polyolefin compounds, with dosage adjusted according to required toughness.

Typical applications include low-smoke halogen-free flame-retardant cables, wood-plastic composites (WPC), modified engineering plastics, aluminum-plastic panels, and other high-filled polyolefin systems.

Processing Guidelines

  • Recommended Processing Temperature: Below 280°C for E100, E120, and E200 grades to preserve grafting efficiency and material performance.
  • Suitable for twin-screw extruders and standard compounding lines.

Packaging and Storage

The product is supplied as uniform granules in 25 kg paper-plastic composite bags. During transportation and storage, protect from moisture, high temperatures, direct sunlight, and contamination, and keep away from ignition sources. For best results, use within 12 months from the production date. After opening, consume the material promptly. If any abnormal color or odor develops after prolonged storage, discontinue use.

Maleic Anhydride Grafted Polyethylene (PE-g-MAH) is a non-hazardous material. Please refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for detailed handling and safety information.
